Fran's last days

Francesca my dear friend had to make her trek back to Deer Park! Pictures from one of our last couple days together in London. We were at a market in a suburb called Camden - Camden market. The market is fall of gothic clothing stores, tattoo parlours, little craft stores, souvenir stores, and food markets. Lots and lots of people there especially on the weekend but was a nice day out for Fran's last minute gift shopping spree. We ate Moroccan for lunch was delish! Fran's many London purchases a leather hat...

Relaxing Belgium!

Day 01

Flew to Belgium to see Els De Sweemer - my friend who came to Australia to study with me in Graphic Design. Els picked me up from the little small airport, then we drove off in her work truck to her hometown of Eelko and settled in! Felt so good being in a car! I really miss driving my car! Els's house is huge - she lives with her grandparents and their two lovely dogs! (oh so cute) Had a nap and then headed out to a town called Lueven. Wow, I really like this little city covered with pavement roads, with small architectural buildings that hold apartments and shops and/or restaurants that sit underneath. We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant - which was wonderful the food was great!! And then spent the night at a bar where Els's friend worked and move to a pub and then eventually i was falling asleep at the table so we crashed!

Day 02

We spent it at a town called Gent. Walk around the town, did a little shopping, had coffee and just chilled out. The weather was nice, cloudy but not too cold. Then we napped well, I napped and Els went for a run :-) This night we went to a bar at Gent, 2 bars actually, the first one the drinks weren't good so we went across the road and stayed there with Els's ex-boyfriend and his friends - Belgium brothers. Then we went to an warehouse club/bar and met up with Els's friend in Antwerp at this point it was mid-night. Watched an band with percussion play - they sounded great! and then eventually we went back to Gent and I feel asleep and Els continued partying!

Day 03

Woke up in Els's friend's apartment - awesome modern two bedroom apartment BTW. Then headed off back to Eelko for a nap and then drove to Brugge! gorgeous town so much history! sat and had coffee and crepe. Headed back home got Chinese and a DVD and chilled out on the couch and had a quiet night at Els's house.

Day 04

My birthday!! yep 25 today!! Els's went to work and I had a sleep in, had lunch with her grandparents and spent the day back at Brugge - today it rained though but was still lovely being in a different country for my birthday. Then in the evening drove back Lueven met up with Sofie and had Japanese for dinner - that took so long to get my food!! Then my flight at 10pm back to London!

In a nutshell, didn't get to see Brussels but I definitely enjoyed the other 3 towns. Everyone speaks English, and I must say very good English too!! and were very welcoming. What I notice, the city is very calm and relaxing. Everybody owns a bike, was nice to see people riding their bicycles everywhere and without wearing helmets!! Belgium, I could live and work there.

Did you know? There are so many Deers roaming Belgium! hehe the sit in people's large farm land like cows and sheep!! People have them as pets?! They're great animals though ;

Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah

My favourite song of August 2007

Polish Roomates

During the July and August I stayed in a share house with a group of Polish people. During this time i learnt a little polish and enjoyed polish food and learnt alot amount the polish community in London and around the world! :-) They unfortunately had to leave London and go back to Poland.

Introducing the house mates Michael and Radek who are brothers were joined by their girlfriends Paulina with Michael and Barbara with Radek.

Paris in a Nutshell

Wow, Paris was great!! I was there for a week, staying at my friend Sandra aunty's apartment. I saw all the sights and ate crepes!! Paris, is yes a beautiful city, lots and lots of historic buildings everything is so extravagant and flambouent! And the french language, wow, I'm going to learn french when i get back to Australia! The sound great!

Places I went to the Louvre, Norte Damme, Eiffel Tower, Arch, walked through the amazing city, did shopping was overall a pleasant stay and visit.
